Fort Lauderdale, Florida, December 9, 2021

As the latest effort in their continuing commitment to innovation, South Florida-based telecommunications company and Internet Service Provider (ISP) Hotwire Communications has become the first such company in the United States to deploy 25G PON (Passive Optical Network) equipment in the field. This next generation solution will enable Hotwire Communications to increase its fiber broadband capacity, and deliver fully symmetrical upload and download speeds of 10 Gigabits-per-second or higher to customers, providing a robust, first-in-class connectivity experience.

A company that has established a reputation as an industry disruptor and trendsetter, Hotwire Communications has been among the first companies to lab test 25G PON equipment, but with this deployment adds another achievement to a growing list of firsts.

These past achievements include being the first ISP to commit to utilizing 100% fiber optics for all network deployments, the first in Florida to deliver a full suite of services via Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) technology, the first in the state to provide Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) services, and the first to utilize XGS-PON equipment in Florida.

“Hotwire Communications couldn’t be more excited to begin deploying 25G PON to multi-dwelling communities, bringing cutting-edge benefits directly to customers’ homes,” said Ron Raugh, Hotwire’s VP of Engineering. “This is just the most recent example of Hotwire substantiating our commitment to innovating and pushing the limits of what we can accomplish, setting an industry standard by adopting the latest technological solutions to deliver an unparalleled service experience to customers in our network.”
