At Hotwire Communications, innovation isn't a single step in our process — it's the foundation of everything we do. It shapes the connectivity we build, how we deliver it to our customers, and the people who will pioneer what comes next. Leaving new ideas unexplored simply isn't an option for us.
That commitment extends far beyond our own network. For years, our Chief Technology Officer, Pragash Pillai, has been actively involved in shaping the future of engineering and computer science. He serves on multiple academic advisory boards, including the Dean's Advisory Board of the Fred DeMatteis School of Engineering and Applied Science at Hofstra University. There, he collaborates with industry leaders from aerospace, telecommunications, and computing to ensure the next generation of engineers and computer scientists is prepared to lead.
Our involvement is hands-on. Board members work to keep curricula rigorous and up-to-date, support accreditation efforts, fund student scholarships and research, and participate in the school's Executive Speaker Series. We also strengthen the co-op program, which places students directly into industry before graduation. The goal is simple: ensure promising that ideas — and promising talent — have the opportunity to thrive, rather than being overlooked.
For Pragash, whose career spans network engineering, cybersecurity, digital transformation, and large-scale broadband infrastructure, this work is a natural extension of Hotwire's innovative mindset. The engineers we support today will design the networks, products, and customer experiences of tomorrow. Investing in their growth is investing in the future of connectivity itself.
“The engineers and computer scientists we help develop today will define the next era of connectivity — the technology itself, how it reaches people, and the ideas no one has imagined yet. That's why this work matters to us.”
— Pragash Pillai, Chief Technology Officer, Hotwire Communications
Developing the next generation of engineers is one of the most powerful ways we honor our commitment to innovation — not only in what we deliver today, but in who will shape the future.
